
About the Director.
Dror Soref is an award-winning Hollywood
director-producer-writer whose career began
when the president of 20th Century Fox
championed his first screenplay and hired
him as a story editor. Encouraged to direct,
Dror launched his career with music videos
for "Weird Al" Yankovic, helping establish the
artist's stardom. His short film Platinum Blonde
drew the attention of Paramount Pictures,
which led to his feature debut The Seventh Coin
starring Peter O’Toole, earning two festival
awards including Best Picture.
Dror maintained a long relationship with Paramount, during which he founded Orbit Productions, directing Super Bowl and Academy Awards–aired commercials for clients like Ford, Coca-Cola, and McDonald’s. He directed episodes of Power Rangers, then signed a multi-picture deal with legendary producer Mike Medavoy, resulting in Basic starring John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Dror went on to write and direct Not Forgotten, starring Simon Baker and Paz Vega, which earned critical acclaim and a Saturn Award nomination.
A former combat officer in the Israeli Defense Force’s elite Golani Brigade, Dror was cited for excellence in service. At just 23, he was nominated by his political party to run for Parliament in Israel. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Haifa and later studied filmmaking at USC’s School of Cinema Arts.
